Windsurfing: Camber Sands - Little Maui Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: 30mph Surf / Sea State: relatively flat but some cool Air Temperature: chilly Sea Temperature: cold (for southern s Weather: overcast but no rain Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Suffered a bit with chilly temps but had couple good sessions, separated by
brief refreshment interlude.
Winds was pretty light when got there, and was all for rigging 5.8m Poison
on demo Exocet Cross 106 I had in the van, but was soon thinking 5.3m Manic
on it would be better as could plug that into Pocket Wave 78 if it all got
up as forecast.
As it turned out, wind filled in quicker than we thought, although it was
bang on cue according to forecast, so went 4.7m Manic and Pocket 78 from
the outset.
Struggled a bit at first, but headed up into Little Maui and it all
improved due to lack of rip on the inside up that end. Improved further
when I tweaked the X-Lace footstraps so I could properly get my booted feet
into them!
After the break the tide was heading to France at a rate of knots, but
sailed better after taking on some fluids and a snack bar. Binned it about
4pm as was feeling cold, and must've looked cold too as a couple of the
guys asked me if I was cold !!
Cracking day of sport all things told, a decent day's windsurfing, Wales
take the Triple Crown, Scotland beat England to put Wales in pole position
for the Grand Slam, ManU & Chelsea dumped out of FA Cup, and then Sunday,
my old man's side, Cardiff, go through to the semi's ....
Must've had a good day saturday as I washed my new co van, my old windsurf
van & the wifes T4 on Sunday ;-)
